FareHarbor vs Happy Websites

A FareHarbor site stays FareHarbor’s when you leave. Ours is yours, and works with any booking tool.

FareHarbor, the booking software owned by Booking Holdings, builds and hosts WordPress websites for its booking clients, at a price it doesn’t publish and with a non-refundable onboarding fee. Your content and domain stay yours, but the site and its theme stay FareHarbor’s if you leave.

FareHarbor, quickly

How much does a FareHarbor website cost?

FareHarbor doesn’t publish the price.

Fees are set in a signed order, starting with a non-refundable onboarding fee that’s credited toward your monthly or yearly subscription. If a payment fails and isn’t made good, it can take the site offline.

What do you get with a FareHarbor website?

A WordPress site its team builds and hosts.

Packages include hosting, SSL, maintenance, SEO support and price sync with your FareHarbor Dashboard. FareHarbor puts the average build at four weeks, and third-party plugins aren’t allowed.

Do you own your FareHarbor website?

Your content, yes. The site, no.

Your text, images and domain stay yours. The site, its WordPress theme and its custom code belong to FareHarbor and can’t be hosted anywhere else.

How do you cancel a FareHarbor website?

With 30 days’ written notice.

Monthly plans renew each month and yearly plans for another 12 months. FareHarbor sends your text and images as files, then archives the site once your domain points elsewhere.

What fees does FareHarbor charge your guests?

A booking fee on direct bookings.

For businesses on FareHarbor for at least a year that took under $35,000 in online direct bookings in the past 12 months, it’s 6%, added to the price. OTA and affiliate bookings are exempt.

FareHarbor FAQ

Is FareHarbor legit?

Yes. FareHarbor is booking software for tours and activities, part of Booking Holdings since 2018 and headquartered in Amsterdam, and says more than 23,000 businesses use it. It has 3.8 out of 5 from 184 Trustpilot reviews, about a quarter of them one-star, and isn’t rated by the BBB.

How much does a FareHarbor website cost?

FareHarbor doesn’t publish the price of its websites. Its terms set the fees in a signed order, with a non-refundable onboarding fee that’s credited toward your subscription. Separately, businesses on FareHarbor for at least a year that took under $35,000 in online direct bookings in the past 12 months have a 6% booking fee added to their direct bookings.

Do I own my FareHarbor website?

Not the site itself. Your text, images, logo and domain stay yours, but the site and the WordPress theme it’s built on belong to FareHarbor and aren’t transferred if you leave. FareHarbor exports your content as files and a spreadsheet, and keeps the site archived in case you come back.

How do I cancel a FareHarbor website?

Give FareHarbor at least 30 days’ written notice. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically each month, and yearly ones renew for another 12 months unless you give notice 30 days before the year ends. The onboarding fee isn’t refunded, and fees for the notice period are still due.

Is Happy Websites a good FareHarbor alternative?

For the website, yes, if you want a published price, no setup fee and a site you keep whichever booking tool you use. A FareHarbor site syncs prices and availability from your Dashboard and comes with SEO support, which we don’t sell. Keep FareHarbor for bookings and payments; we link your Book now buttons to it.
