Websites for home services businesses

Homeowners call two or three companies and hire the one that looks most like a real business. Your website has to show that you work on their street, that you’re licensed and insured, what your jobs look like and how to get an estimate, on a phone, often in a hurry. Painters, HVAC, plumbers, roofers, remodelers and movers: we design, build, host and update that site for one flat monthly price.

A real client

The painter homeowners call first.

A residential painting crew working four metros. Homeowners line up three quotes, so the site had to win the job before the estimate.

“They made the whole thing painless and my new site looks better than competitors who paid way more.”

What a home services site needs

Five things a homeowner looks for.

1

Your service area, town by town

The first question is whether you come out to them. List the towns, counties or ZIP codes you cover, and give the main ones their own page, so a search for a roofer in that town lands somewhere specific.

If you charge a trip fee or have a minimum job size, say so. It saves you calls you can’t take.

2

License, insurance and warranties up front

Homeowners are letting a crew into their house or onto their roof. Put your license number, insurance and any warranty where they can see them, not buried in the footer.

Some states require your license or registration number in your advertising, including California, Florida, Arizona and Pennsylvania. We add it wherever yours has to appear.

3

Photos of real jobs

Before-and-afters, a finished kitchen, a new roof from the street: real photos of your work sell the next job better than anything we could write. Sort them by service, so someone pricing a bathroom sees bathrooms.

Reviews do the same job. We show what customers already say about you, with links to the full reviews.

4

A section for every job you want more of

Someone with a leaking water heater isn’t searching for “plumbing services.” Give each job you want more of its own section or page: water heaters, drain cleaning, AC repair, roof replacement, interior painting.

Say what the job involves and what affects the price. If you publish starting prices or run seasonal specials, they go here too.

  • ✓Repairs and emergency calls
  • ✓Installs and replacements
  • ✓Maintenance plans
  • ✓Free estimates or inspections
  • ✓Financing, if you offer it
5

Call, text or request an estimate

Most people find you on a phone, sometimes with water on the floor. Keep tap-to-call and the estimate button on every page, with your hours and whether you answer after hours.

Already book jobs in Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan? We link the button straight to your online booking. Otherwise the estimate form goes to your inbox with the address, the job and photos if they have them.

Home services website FAQ

What should a home services website include?

Your service area, your license and insurance, photos of real jobs, reviews, a section for each service you want more of, and a phone number and estimate button that stay in reach on a phone.

Can you connect Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan?

Yes. If you take bookings or estimate requests online, we link the buttons straight to your booking page. If you don’t, the site sends each request to your inbox and shows your phone number on every page.

Can I have a page for each town I serve?

Yes, on the five to seven page plan. Each main town or area can have its own page, written about that area rather than copied from the others.

How much does a contractor website cost?

The same as any Happy Websites site: $99/mo for a one-page site or $199/mo for five to seven pages. Design, writing, hosting and unlimited edits are included, with no setup fee and no contract.

Do I own my website and domain?

Yes. Your domain, your content, your site. If you ever leave, we hand everything over and help you move.

Ready for a site that books estimates?

Tell us your trade, your area and the jobs you want more of. Send a few photos from recent jobs, and we’ll build the site around them.
